Belarus (AHN) - A Belarus opposition leader is jailed for two weeks for organizing an unauthorized rally the night before general elections.
Vintsuk Vyachorka will no longer be allowed to campaign for the polls, which take place March 19.
He played a crucial role in the campaign for Alexander Milinkevich, one of three opposition candidates, who are up against Alexander Lukashenko, seeking his third term in office.
Last week opposition candidate and leader of the Social Democratic Party, Alexander Kozulin, was briefly detained by police after trying to get into a conference where Lukashenko was the featured speaker.
