The National Bank of Belarus plans to set up a gold reserve of at least 32 tonnes of gold equivalent by 2011, a source in the main precious metals and stones department at the National Bank of Belarus told Interfax.
The National Bank expects that in 2010 gold and forex reserves will amount to $3 billion. The National Bank's gold reserve amounts to 25.02 tonnes of gold equivalent, compared with 4.41 tonnes in 2001.
