Belarus has lifted today the import restrictions for Russia's beer, Interfax reported referring to the Trade Ministry of Belarus. The respective action is spelled out in the government's resolution of February 3, 2007.
Starting from March 1, Belarus will import Russia's beer bypassing temporarily storages and with no special marking required for the accompanying documents. The restrictions were introduced April 2003 to oppose illegal deliveries of the product from Russia.
The requirements toughened control over the beer import and ensured its legalization. The action made it possible to lift the restrictions, the Trade Ministry's official specified.
The import of Russia's beer reached 5.3 million decaliters past year, 49.3 percent up vs. 2005, according to Statistics Ministry of Belarus.
