Belarus hopes to get stabilization loan in 2007
RBC, 02.03.2007, Minsk 17:42:12.Belarus reckons to obtain a stabilization loan from Russia in the second half of 2007, Belarus's Finance Minister Nikolai Korbut told journalists today. According to him, the negotiations to this effect have not started yet. Korbut also added that the final amount and terms were largely up to Russia.
As reported earlier, on February 22 Belarus requested for a stabilization loan of $1.5bn, arguing that the loan had been necessitated by a rise in energy tariffs, and a corresponding increase in state expenditure.
