Belarusian policemen and KGB officers yesterday confiscated 200,000 leaflets at a depot in private premises in Minsk. The leaflets contained an appeal to come to October Square on March 25 to the opposition rally, Khartia'97 reports.
As the press-service of the Belarusian Popular Front party has informed, an interrogation of dwellers of the house had taken place. A record of confiscation hadn't been drawn up. 140,000 of those leaflets were distributed previously.
"We are indignant at actions of the police and KGB," the head of legal commission of the Belarusian Popular Front party Uladzimir Labkovich said. "It shows that day and night surveillance over democratic activists is taking place. All their movements are monitored".
Labkovich has underlined that activities of the regime are aimed at depriving citizens a chance to come to a peaceful rally on March 25. "Leaflets contained "EU Proposals to Belarus," Labkovich said. "Thus the regime has demonstrated that they want leave Belarus without its European status and prevent us from enjoying advantages offered by the EU".
