Kazakh Ambassador, Belarusian Speaker met

MINSK. March 13. KAZINFORM Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Belarus Anatoly Smirnov met with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Kazakh Embassy.The Kazakh Ambassador informed the Belarusian Speaker on the President’s Address to the Nation “Through crisis to renovation and prosperity”, in particular it was noted that our country one of the first responded to the growing turbulence of the world economy, took anti - crisis measures and realized them successively. Kazakhstan allocated over KZT 2.7 bln to overcome the crisis.

The Ambassador stressed that the Head of the State charged the Government to meet l obligations on increase of social payments and salaries to state employees in full. He noted that the pensions and salaries will be increased by 25% next year and by 30% in 2011.

The Ambassador expressed his confidence that Kazakhstan will cope with all difficulties and emerge from the crisis even more powerful and prosperous state.

V.Andreichenko noted that the main thing at the present is to solve economic problems that will contribute to the solution of all social issues.

The issues of further development of bilateral cooperation were discussed at the meeting as well. The sides agreed that the current trade turnover does not match the existing potential of two countries and agreed to make joint efforts to increase it. The need to activate cultural-humanities interaction and interregional cooperation was stressed as well.

The Ambassador said that Belarusian delegation, headed by the Deputy Minister of Industry is paysing an official visit to Kazakhstan . Visits of delegations of Karaganda region and “Samruk Kazyna” National Welfare Fund to Belarus are expected in March, 2009.

Stressing the importance of such visits, V.Andreichenko said that Belarus and Kazakhstan can neutralize the impact of the world economic crisis by means of extension of bilateral trade-economic contacts.
