Solidarity with Belarus

Warsaw Castle Square is hosting the annual "Solidarity with Belarus" concert today.

The Belarus bands and artists as well as the musicians from Poland will participate in it, playing the new arrangements of well known compositions in both Polish and Belorussian languages. The concert and a peaceful demonstration preceding it are to mark the Belorussian Independence Day, observed on March 25th, which the Minsk authorities banned a few years ago.

Organizers want to send a signal to the Belarusian opposition that Poland has not forgotten the aspirations of the Belorussian people. The event is organized also to remind Poles that not much has changed in Belarus and it is still not a free nation.

"Solidarity with Belarus" is a series of events under the slogan "Hear Belarus!". Other events include movie screenings, thematic concerts, happenings and debates.
