Belarus Indepence Day observed in Warsaw
A happening commemorating the Belorussian Independence Day is to take place today in the afternoon in Warsaw. Held under the slogan "Hear Belarus" it is organized by the Free Belarus Initiative to mark the Belarusian Independence Day, which the Minsk authorities banned a few years ago. The anniversary was preceded by an annual concert called "Solidarity with Belarus" at Warsaw Castle Square on Sunday. During the event the Belarus bands and artists as well as the musicians from Poland played the new arrangements of well known compositions in both Polish and Belorussian languages. "Solidarity with Belarus" is a series of events under the slogan "Hear Belarus!". Other events include movie screenings, thematic concerts, happenings and debates.
