According to the latest statistics, Belarus crude steel output in January and February 2009 raised to 444,000 tonnes, up by 4.1% YoY as compared with that in same period of time.
Meanwhile, steel finished product output increased by 1.5% YoY to 404,000 tons. However, steel pipe and wire rod out outputs dropped to 8200 tonnes and 7600 tonnes by 28.6% YoY and 35.4% YoY respectively.
On the other hand, Russia crude steel output dropped by 35.4% YoY to 8.2 million tonnes as compared to the same period last year. Russian long product and flat product dropped to 4.4 million tonnes and 2.8 million tonnes down by 27.9% YoY and 34.9% YoY respectively.
