Belarusian joint ventures in Latvia can receive the financial aid from the funds of the European Union, Zaneta Jaunzeme-Grende, Chairperson of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) told a session of the National Board of Directors of the Belarusian Research and Industrial Association (BRIA). The session featured the ways to maintain the sustained development of businesses and economy in general amid the global financial crisis, BelTA has learnt.
The LCCI Chairperson pointed out that the Latvian entrepreneurs have also developed some measures to overcome the crisis. These measures include providing financial aid to businessmen, new export and innovation development strategies, raising the competitiveness of products. Apart from that, in the conditions of the economic downturn, Latvian entrepreneurs hope to get financial aid from the European Union. 'This aid can be provided also to Belarusian enterprises operating in Latvia,' Zaneta Jaunzeme- Grende said.
