As of March 11, agricultural organizations of Belarus prepared 1.07 mln tons or 87.1% of the necessary volumes of mineral fertilizers for the spring sowing campaign as opposed to 58.3% of fertilizer volumes at the same date of the previous year, declared the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
As of March 11, agricultural organizations prepared 688.500 tons of potash fertilizers, an increase of 20% compared to the necessary volumes (as opposed to 61.8% of the necessary volumes in the last year), 281.000 tons of nitrogenous fertilizers (55.8% of the necessary volumes as opposed to 63% in the previous year) and 101.400 tons of phosphoric fertilizers (66.3% as opposed to 36.4% in the previous year).
According to the forecasts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the country will have to import 25.000 tons nitrogenous and 53.000 tons of phosphoric fertilizers. In the current season, the increase of fertilizer supplies in the present sowing campaign will exceed the level of the previous year by 10%.
