Today, a meeting between Azerbaijani and Belarusian businessmen was held in Baku.
Meeting held by the support of Ministry of Economic Development and organizing of AZPROMO (Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation) and Belarusian Embassy to Azerbaijan.
Near 30 businessmen of Azerbaijan and Belarus engaging in agriculture and food industry have attended the meeting.
AZPROMO President Adil Mammadov made a speech on Azerbaijan’s economic opportunities and spoke about the business and investment environment of the country. He noted that, $ 95 bln was invested I Azerbaijan’s economy during past 15 years. Of this, $ 55 bln was foreign capital: 'Amount of investment in non-oil sector was $ 51 bln, during past 15 years'.
Deputy Executive Director of Azerbaijan Investment Company Rovshan Najaf spoke about the AIC’s activity and implemented projects in non-oil sector. Deputy Director General of Belarusian Chamber of Trade and Commerce Vera Siracova spoke about the importance of meetings between businessmen.
'Now, representatives of Belarusian 10 leading companies attend the meeting and Belarus suggests to establish joint ventures with Azerbaijan', she added.
In turn, Belarusian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Nikolai Patskevich spoke about the current relations between two countries and noted that, Azerbaijan and Belarus have near 70 agreements. 60% of this is governmental: 'Azerbaijan and Belarus have new stages of relations. Azerbaijan has started to export oil to Belarus and Belarus will process it from April'.
