MINSK, Mar 17 (PRIME-TASS) -- Belarus has announced an open international tender to choose an investor for the construction of a pellet production plant at the Okolovskoye iron ore deposit, an official at the country’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Protection told PRIME-TASS Thursday.
The project, which envisages the construction of a mine, dressing plant, pellet plant, and metal coating plant, including all the necessary infrastructure, is to require about U.S. $1.35 billion worth of investment.
Bids for the tender are being accepted until October 9.
The deposit’s reserves amount to 145.4 million tonnes of ore comprising 15.44% magnetite iron and 25.52% total iron.
