In 2011, Belarus plans to produce 9.9 mln tonnes of grains
In 2011, all categories of agricultural enterprises in Belarus plan to produce 9.9 mln tonnes of grains in bunker weight, including maize, declared Mikhail Rusiy, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus. The Minister marked that such grain volumes will completely satisfy all domestic requirements and allow realizing export trading of grains.
The Minister reminded that last year agrarians of the country produced nearly 1 mln tonnes of wheat. In the current season, agrarians plan to increase the production volume by 450 thsd tonnes, in order to ensure the domestic swine breeding and poultry farming with the commodity. Agrarians also plan to produce nearly 1 mln tonnes of maize throughout nearly 840 thsd ha (in 2010, agrarians produced about 770 thsd tonnes of the grain).
M.Rusiy marked that last year agrarians sowed winter crops on time. Losses of winter crops sowings stayed within reasonable standard areas, in several cases the indices reach the maximum level of 10%.
In 2011, all categories of agricultural enterprises also plan to produce nearly 60 thsd tonnes of flax-fibre, 890 thsd tonnes of rapeseed. The Ministry plans that agrarians to complete the sowing works of spring grains till May 1, flaxseed – May 5.
