Benchmark EM spreads have widened out a little this morning with Belarus particularly hard hit as investors take a decidedly negative view on the CIS sovereign. Following on from stark IMF criticism and S&P’s downgrade to B from B+ on March 15, the Belarus 2015s and 2018s have tumbled down to 90.5-91.5 and 87-88 and now yield 11.5% and 11.75% respectively with their Z-spreads surging to 965bp and 915bp.
