The president received Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, Co-Chairman of Kyrgyz-Belarus Joint Intergovernmental Commission (JIC) Ivan Bambiza at a meeting of the Kyrgyz-Belarus JIC in Bishkek this week.
Co-Chairman of the JIC from Kyrgyzstan, Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan Arstanbek Nogoev and Ambassador of Belarus to Kyrgyzstan Valeriy Brylev also attended the meeting.
The Deputy PM of Belarus said the volume of commodity circulation between the states has increased by 20% in comparison with 2006.
It was noted the interest in expanding and deepening cooperation in the field of education, particularly, in the field of developing vocational education.
Belarus is also investigating the possibility of opening a line in Kyrgyzstan for the assemblage of tractors at the base of Karabalta vehicle repair plant.
President K.Bakiyev expressed satisfaction with activity of the Kyrgyz-Belarus Joint Intergovernmental Commission and said the commission should meet on a regular basis, "carrying the achieved agreements to the phase of concrete decisions and acceptance."
The Belarus head of state welcomed development of bilateral cooperation in the field of vocational education and capabilities of delivering ecologically clean agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan.
As for the issue on opening the line in Kyrgyzstan on assembling tractors,
Ivan Bambiza said that "the republic needs in agricultural technique and it will be good for development of the country's agrarian sector if the issue is solved positively." (TCA)
