Russia and Belarus are 12 years nearly together

Yesterday Russia and Belarus marked the 12th anniversary of signing the Russia-Belarus Community agreement in 1996.

To celebrate the event the solemn meetings were held in Moscow and Minsk, with the participation of deputies of the Parliament Council of Russia and Belarus Unity.

Some celebratory concerts were held in the two capitals. In Minsk the popular bands, like Syabry, Horoshky, Byaseda, the G.I. Tsitovich National Academic Folk Choir, the National Chamber Choir, and the Grodno philharmonic orchestra performed.

The famous Byelorussian band Pesnyary gave a concert in Moscow.

The treaty was signed between the two presidents on April, 2, 1996. Since then every year the two countries celebrate the event as the Day of Unity of the peoples of Russia and Belarus.
