U.S. demands that Belarus release U.S. citizen Zeltzer

MINSK. April 30 (Interfax) - Washington demands that the Belarusian authorities release U.S. citizen Emmanuil Zeltzer who is being kept in custody in the pre-trial detention center of the State Security Committee (KGB) of Belarus.

"We propose to release the U.S. citizen based on humanitarian principles. We call on the Belarusian authorities to implement this demand to save the life of the U.S. citizen," U.S. Charge d'Affaires in Belarus Jonathan Moore said on Wednesday.
