AFP - A blast tore through an underground metro station located near Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko's main office in the capital Minsk on Monday, injuring several commuters, witnesses told AFP.
It was not immediately clear what caused the explosion, which hit the Oktyabrskaya metro station in the city centre.
Witnesses told AFP that dark plumes of smoke rose from the tunnel entrance to the station, with dozens of people walking out in a daze, covered with pieces plaster.
At least one person had both of his legs maimed by the blast, a witness told AFP.
The RIA Novosti news agency separately reported that at least 10 people were hurt in the blast.
