MINSK (BNO NEWS) -- A large explosion at a metro station in the Belarusian capital on early Monday evening killed at least 2 people and injured many more, local media reported.
The explosion happened at around 6 p.m. local time at the Oktyabrskaya metro station in Minsk. The cause of the blast during evening rush hour was not immediately known.
The Interfax news agency, citing eyewitnesses, said at least 2 people had been killed while around 30 others suffered serious burns. Some of the victims with less severe injuries were being transported by taxi to area hospitals.
