Ukraine, according to the agreement, receives money, even if Belarus does not pump oil via the Odesa-Brody oil pipeline, Ukraine's Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yuriy Boiko commented on Azeri oil supplies cuts by Belarus.
"In fact, today Mozyr Oil Refinery [Belarus] is being repaired, and last month the pumping decreased, but in general the pumping was running as planned," he told reporters in Donetsk, east of Ukraine. "Moreover, we have a tight contract with them, the so-called "ship-or-pay". And even if no pumping, the country still receives foreign currency in the amount of approximately USD 60 million a year," Boiko emphasized. JSC Ukrtransnafta and CJSC Belarusian Oil Company on January 17, 2011 signed an agreement on the transit in 2011-2012 by the Ukrainian side of 4 million tons of oil annually via the Odesa-Brody pipeline to Mozyr Oil Refinery in Belarus. Under the instrument, Azerbaijani oil is pumped via Odesa-Brody pipeline as to replace Venezuelan oil. According to media reports since mid-last week Odesa-Brody oil pipeline has not received oil from the Azerbaijani side that is pumped as to replace the Venezuelan, however the Belarusian side does not intake oil from the pipeline. On March 28, Deputy General Director of Belarusian Oil Company Andrei Shishko said that Belarus had reduced oil intake from the pipeline due to the repairs at Mozyr Oil Refinery.
