Minsk celebrating Belarus / Russia Unity Day

On Saturday Minsk celebrates Belarussian / Russian Unity Day.

"15 years ago, we laid the foundation for building the Union State. Thanks to Joint humanitarian, economic and military cooperation the Republic of the Belarus and Russia have consistently addressed issues of (mutual) interaction, despite events shaking the world community, global challenges and threats," said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. According to him, the Union of Belarus and Russia has become the driving force and catalyst in post-Soviet space.

According to ITAR-TASS, the celebration in the Belarusian capital began last Wednesday at “Moscow House”.

The festive evening was attended by officials of the two countries and included an art exhibition and ended with a concert by the masters.

It is symbolic that, on Friday, at the Belarusian-Russian border transport control was abolished.

Now cars can cross the Belarusian-Russian border without much interruption.
