Belarusian cableco Cosmos TV has reached and passed the 50,000 subscriber-mark for broadband users and begun preparations to move on to DVB-T digital broadcasting. E-Belarus.org reports the operator will initially make DVB-T available to on-air broadcasting users who will be offered a 'Basic' programme package, including 32 standard dimension (SD) TV channels. According to TeleGeography's GlobalComms database, Cosmos TV was founded in 1993 and in 1996 launched multichannel on-air TV broadcasting to residents in Minsk. Today over 10,000 people use its on-air broadcasting.
