Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko denies selling Russian-made Iskander-M tactical missile systems to the Iranian government.
"As far as the S-300 and Iskander [missiles] are concerned, these complexes cannot be exported without my approval. There is not a single contract or project related to these systems that I have been asked to approve. This is utter nonsense," Lukashenko said on Friday.
An earlier report published by Ria Novosti suggested that Lukashenko has agreed to sell the short-range missiles to Tehran as part of top-level agreements with Iranian officials.
The Iskander-M system is equipped with two solid-propellant single-stage 9M723K1 guided missiles with "quasi-ballistic" capability with a range of approximately 310 miles.
