VILNIUS, Lithuania
Energy company Lietuvos Dujos says Belarus has cut supplies of Russian natural gas to Llithuania by 30 percent along the Belarus to Kaliningrad pipeline.
The company said Wednesday in a statement that the supplies were cut off with no warning. Russia has reduced natural gas supply to Belarus by 60 percent following a dispute over debts, but still aims to supply Lithuania via the pipeline that runs through Belarus.
Lietuvos Dujos says Latvia has assured its Baltic neighbor that it will be able to supply Lithuania with sufficient gas to meet its needs.
No more details were immediately available. Officials at Lietuvos Dujos declined comment.
