Iran's foreign minister says the Islamic Republic and Belarus have similar interests and concerns over both regional and international issues.
Manouchehr Mottaki, upon receiving the new Belarusian ambassador to Iran, Victor Ripak, noted that Tehran and Minsk are ready to open a new chapter in their relations, IRNA reports.
Mottaki said that Belarus can bridge the gap between Iran and its trade partners and increase the current USD 1.9 billion deals between the two countries.
After submitting his credentials to Mottaki, the Belarusian ambassador, Victor Ripak expressed his country's interest in boosting trade with Iran.
