Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Belarus health minister Vasily Zharko who is on a visit in Baku had meetings yesterday with prime minister Artur Rasizade and his counterpart Ogtay Shiraliyev of Azerbaijan. Zharko said that Belarus is ready for co-operation with Azerbaijan in the area of public care. "Co-operation comprises support of surgical operations on kidneys, liver and heart, and exchange of medical specialists and students," Zharko said. Following the meeting in the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan the sides signed an agreement on cooperation in the health area and medical science. The agreement stipulates development of co-operation on medical aid for population, implementation of joint programs, training and re-training of medical and scientific personnel, state registration and certification of medical products and equipment, foodstuffs, promotion to scientific surveys in the area of experimental clinic and preventive treatment medicine," Zharko said. The Cabinet Ministers reports that in the meeting between PM Rasizadeh and the Belarus minister it was stressed that after agreements reached in the course of mutual official visits of both states' presidents and prime ministers the countries laid a basis for effective partnership. In this connection it was voiced assurance that the co-operation agreement signed between the two countries' health ministries would also give favourable results. "Stressing that suggestions made by the guest will cause great interest in Azerbaijan Rasizadeh underlined significance of further expansion of relationships between both countries' health ministries," the Cabinet informed.
