Pilot killed as German helicopter crashes in Belarus
A German helicopter crashed Sunday outside the Belarussian capital Minsk during an aerobatics show, killing its pilot, the spokesman of emergency situations ministry said.
The pilot, Gunter Zimmer, 74, was making a turn in his MD 500 helicopter when it crashed and burst into flames at the Borovaya airfield, which was hosting a Commonwealth of Independent States sport helicopter competition.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
