Within the first seven months of this year Belarus export to Estonia has increased to USD 236 mln, 2,5 times more than last year same time.
Vara to investigate Belarus market
According to Aleksander Ostrovski, Belarus consul in Tallinn, the trade movement between Estonia and Belarus has grown to USD 266 mln. Ostovski said that Belarus has exported 200 different products into Estonia, among them paper and alcohol.
In March, Belarus invited 30 Estonian CEO's for a visit. The guests were introduced to the business elite of the country as well as the investment possibilities that Belarus offers. Among the invited were the representatives of Deloitte, Sorainen, Ekspress Grupp, Tietoenator Corp, Arco Vara, Magnum, Arco Investeering, Marat.
A group of Belarus businessmen visited Estonia in May: Mogilevliftmas, Gomelstroimateriali, FEZ Gomel-Raton representatives among them.
Ostrovski states that in September a group of more than 20 construction enterprise leaders will be arriving in Estonia. Estonian businessmen will be going to Minsk in November.
Three years ago Estonian investments into Belarus were nearly USD 6 mln, in 2007 the number reached USD 50 mln and in the first quarter of this year the investments have been over USD 29 mln.
