Under the new document, Russia can deliver 60,000 tonnes of dairy products to Belarus in 2010 and Belarus may deliver 2.8 million tonnes to Russia.
Russia and Belarus have agreed a revised forecast for supply and demand of dairy and meat products and sugar in 2010, which remain at 2009 levels.
"The forecast for next year remains at the 2009 level with the possibility of increases if needed," Russian Agriculture Minister Yelena Skrynnik said upon the completion of a joint session of the collegia of the two nations' agriculture ministries in Moscow on Tuesday.
Under the new document, Russia can deliver 60,000 tonnes of dairy products to Belarus in 2010 and Belarus may deliver 2.8 million tonnes to Russia. Belarus plans to deliver 32,000 tonnes of dry milk, 116,000 tonnes of cheese and Russian cream cheese (tvorog), 50,000 tonnes of butter and 40,000 tonnes of condensed milk.
Russia may deliver up to 3,000 tonnes of meat products to Belarus and Belarus can deliver up to 145,000 tonnes to Russia, including 90,000 tonnes of beef, 20,000 tonnes of pork and 8,000 tonnes of poultry. Russia does not plan to supply any granulated sugar to Belarus in 2010, while Belarus expects to deliver 150,000 tonnes to Russia, distributed evenly across the four quarters of the year.
The amounts may be revised upwards, Skrynnik said.
Beginning in 1997, Russia and Belarus have compiled an annual forecast of the amount of supply and demand for key products within their Union State. The document for 2010 is based on the five-year forecast for supply and demand in 2008-2012. The document also takes into account customs statistics and targets contained in state programs to develop agriculture and regulation of the agricultural market and Belarus' program for rural development in 2005-2010.
