MOSCOW, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Five people were killed in the crash of a Russian business plane near Minsk, the Belarusian capital, on Monday night, Itar-Tass news agency reported.
Three crew members and two passengers were on board the plane when it crashed near the Minsk international airport, a Belarusian emergency services official was quoted by Itar-Tass as saying.
The business jet took off from Moscow's Vnukovo airport, and crashed following a failed attempt to make emergency landing, the official said.
The wreckage of the plane was found 4 km from the runway.
According to the jet's operator, the S-Air Company, there should have been six people aboard the plane, but the sixth person did not board.
The Moscow-based S-Air is a small private company which provides charter services to top-level executives and government officials.
