Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus will join World Trade Organization separately. The Minister of Economic Development and Commerce of the Russian Federation, Maxim Medvedkov, informed, Kazakhstan Today agency reports citing Russian television channel Vesti.
Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus will join World Trade Organization separately, but will speak jointly on some issues."
According to the television channel, the participants of the negotiations in Geneva say that Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus still plan to enter WTO within short period of time. However, Russian negotiation group has not set any dates yet, having said that already concluded bilateral WTO entry agreements would not be reconsidered.
As informed earlier, in June, 2009, the prime ministers of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan made a decision to notify WTO on joining the organization as uniform customs territory. All three countries suspended bilateral negotiations on joining the organization for the period of carrying out of consultations on formation of a uniform position of the Customs Union.
