Belarusian quality control system for products of animal origin can't guarantee safety of products supplied to the Russian Federation. Such a conclusion was made by Federal Agency for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor) after its officials' visit to Belarus in October, as RIA Novosti reports.
Rosselkhoznadzor's experts examined the system of laboratory monitoring of products supplied to Russia. They visited Belarusian State Veterinary Centre, Brest Regional Veterinary Laboratory, Vitebsk Regional Veterinary Laboratory, Brest Regional Hygienic and Epidemiological Centre, Brest Standardization, Metrology and Certification Centre, as well as production laboratories of enterprises "Inco-Food" and "Euro Trade Brest".
As it is reported in press-release, Rosselkhoznadzor's commission came to the following conclusion: "The revealed shortcomings of system of state control over residual quantities of harmful substances in organisms of live animals and products of animal origin in Belarus speak for inadequate efficiency and reliability of researches carried out there". According to Rosselkhoznadzor's experts, the corresponding services of Belarus "are not able to react as fast and efficiently as it is required in the case of detection of products which don't meet the safety requirements".
