Belarus: To Play Russian Ally Role In US Defense Row-AFP
MOSCOW (AFP)--Belarus is ready to "play its role" as a Russian ally if the U.S. defies Moscow's objections and goes ahead with deployment of a missile defense shield in central Europe, President Alexander Lukashenko said Friday.
"Belarus is ready to play its role on the question of the proposed deployment in Europe of elements of the anti-missile defense system," he said at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin in the Belarussian capital Minsk.
