MINSK. Dec 14 (Interfax) - Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko has said he expects reciprocal steps from Europe in response to a stable supply of energy resources through Belarusian territory to the European market from Russia.
"The European Union, a rich Europe, will feel safe," Lukashenko said, adding that Belarus will ensure stable transit of Russian energy to the European market.
"Belarus and Russia are making an immense contribution to the European continent's economic and sociopolitical stability. We expect reciprocal steps from Europe in this regard," Lukashenko said following a meeting of the Supreme Council of the Union of Belarus and Russia on Friday.
