MINSK. Dec 24 (Interfax) - Belarus exported 12.373 million tonnes of petroleum products in the first 10 months of the year, down 0.1% from the same period last year, a source in the Statistics Ministry told Interfax.
Exports grew 3.3% in cash terms to $5.920 billion.
The average price per tonne of petroleum products in the first 10 months of the year was $478.5, up 3.4% from the same period last year.
Nearly 95% of the products in cost terms were exported outside the CIS. Belarus also exported to Russia, Moldova, and Ukraine, which it sold 504,200 tonnes of petroleum products for $295.5 million. Exports in cost terms dropped 16.5% and 20.4% in physical terms.
Belarus exported 558,500 tonnes of oil for $296.7 million during the period. Exports were down 41.1% in cost terms. All of the oil was exported to countries outside the CIS, namely Germany, Lithuania, Poland, and Estonia.
Oil and gas condensate imports in the first 10 months of the year dropped 7.5% to 16.356 million tonnes, but grew 15.5% in cash terms to $5.563 billion. The average import price for oil was $340.1 per tonne, up 24.7% year-on-year. All of the imported oil came from Russia.
Belarus exported 14.809 million tonnes of petroleum products in 2006, up 9.8% from 2005. Exports in cash terms totaled $6.731 billion, up 38.7% on the previous year. Oil and gas condensate imports in 2006 totaled 20.906 million tonnes, up 8.2% from 2005. Imports in cash terms totaled $5.607 billion, up 32.8% on the previous year.
