MOSCOW (Reuters) - Reports that President Vladimir Putin will sign an agreement next week to head a new state uniting Russia and ex-Soviet neighbor Belarus are "speculative fantasies," Interfax news agency quoted a Kremlin source as saying on Friday.
"As for these reports by a number of media, they belong to the sphere of speculative fantasies," the source told Interfax. "Such reports cause nothing but bewilderment."
