Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The Supreme State Council of Belarus-Russia Union State is to hold a regular session in Minsk, Belarus, December 14.
Belarus ambassador Nikolay Patskevich to Azerbaijan stated that signing of the Constitutional Act of the Belarus-Russia Union State expected at the session does not mean refusal from sovereignty.
"This Act, as well as any other treaty, cannot affect bad partnership between Belarus and Azerbaijan. As in all our bilateral agreements we indicate that they cannot have impact on our relations with third countries," Patskevich said.
Union State secretary Pavel Borodin said that the session will also sign the agreements on co-operation in fuel & energy sector and on lifting of all food trade restricting bans.
In connection with upcoming signing of the Constitutional Act, both Russia and Belarus are discussing a perspective of appointment of Russian leader Vladimir Putin the Union State president as his authority as the country's president is to expire in mid-2008.
President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus is to be "appointed" (not elected) the Union State Parliament chairman.
