MINSK, December 2 (Itar-Tass) - Belarus' Emergencies Ministry has sent a humanitarian consignment to Ukraine hit by the outbreak of swine flu.
According to the republic's Emergencies Ministry, Belarus will stretch a helping hand to the Ukrainian side at the request of President Viktor Yushchenko.
Trucks with humanitarian cargo will deliver medical equipment, bedding, antiseptics and anti-infective agents worth almost 1 million U.S. dollars.
Belarus helps the neighbouring country not for the first time. In 2000 it extended a big sum of money to overcome effects of the natural disaster and delivered equipment to restore power transmission lines.
