Azerbaijan and Belarus discuss assembly of the Belarusian agricultural equipment in the country, Belarus ambassador to Azerbaijan said.
"Today a serious feasibility study is underway on building agricultural machinery. This issue was understood by the Azerbaijani side", the ambassador told a press conference on Friday.
According to him, this technique will be produced in Ganja, the second larger city of Azerbaijan.
Nikolai Patskevitch also reported that the first assembly of cranes on the basis of MAZ will complete at the motor factory in Ganja. "There is a demand for this production", he stressed. In addition, each year the plant in Ganja produces 500 tractors and the 2000th tractor will be produced in early 2010. "We have an agreement on production of 500 more tractors next year ", the ambassador said.
In addition, there is an agreement with the Mogilev "Litfmash" to replace the elevators in Azerbaijan.
"We believe it necessary to establish branches of our national banks as well as joint banks in Azerbaijan", the ambassador said.
According to him, the Azerbaijani-Belarus forum in the field of information technology will be held in Baku in early February. In addition, a national exhibition is due in May in Azerbaijan. "We will try to present as many economic sectors as we can", said N. Patskevitch.
The Belarusian diplomat also announced plans of the national air companies to raise the number of flights to four (from the current two). "This is a good step for tourism development between our countries", he said.
According to the official statement of the Belarusian embassy, in general, the trade turnover of the past five years between the two countries grew 10.7 times. In January - October 2009, the turnover amounted to $ 105,3 mln (110,4% growth rate).
